I am a senior network engineer from Greece that evolved to a fullstack web developer when the opportunity came.
I started my tech career in 2008 as an IT manager in a home security systems importer company.
After finding my calling in the IT sector in 2016 I started installing wireless hotspot access systems for hotels as a freelancer.
I got an opportunity to work for an IT management company in Athens as an IT manager in the same year and was quick to grab it.
In 2017 a year later a better more advanced position opened. I didn't let the opportunity to pass by. Soon I was a senior network engineer. Networking was like a second nature to me. I was able to solve any routing/security issues better than even some more senior collogues.
In 2020 I started doing some side projects in PHP/MySQL.
That was when I was found by the Bizzarro agency. They are a real estate company in New York that needed to modernize and upgrade their tech stack to be able to rise to the new challenges brought on by the COVID pandemic. I used a Bare Metal dedicated server with Proxmox Virtual Environment to create Virtual Machines to host services such as websites, email server, VPNs, remote access files servers and more.
I was also responsible to create internal automation tools for the real estate agents such as dashboards with statistics with data frome external APIs, Collaboration tools to share properties and documents with clients securely and training tools for onboarding new agents.
Once the project was completed, I kept maintaining the infrastructure and freelancing as a fullstack developer using ReactJs as a frontend and utilizing self-hosted solutions such as Apache APISIX, Postgress, Apache OpenWhisk to create backend APIs with serverless functions.
I am mostly self-educated, I do not have any degrees but I compensate with an energetic can do attitude, hard work and self study.
I have also done some IOT side projects written in python for an escape room company automating their games using arduino and raspberry pi boards connected to an MQTT server.
