Duties and responsibilities include:

• Coordinating the ship or shore-based operations to achieve the Company standards for Public Health in compliance with HACCP, EU-SHIPSAN, US Vessel Sanitation Program, local public health authorities and other applicable rules and regulations;

• Scheduling, conducting, arranging and documenting trainings for all locations on applicable local health authority rules and regulations, and any other job-related training, as required;

• Responsible for driving and coordinating the execution of the company's shipboard Public Health and Infection Prevention and Control Program, ensuring the company's public health and infectious disease standards are met and/or exceeded onboard.
• Cooperate with all shipboard Departments to ensure understanding and implementation of Public Health regulatory and Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) requirements and related company policies and procedures.
• Conduct routine inspections and review records/documentation to monitor performance and verify compliance with public health and infection control requirements, including hygiene, cleaning and sanitation protocols, and use of PPE, in areas not limited to, Food and Water Safety, Integrated Pest Management, Housekeeping/Public Areas, Air Handling and Medical Facility.
• Assist onboard Departments with implementation of Corrective Action Plans. This includes policies related to hand hygiene and microbial surveillance.
• Supervise, guide, support and maintain records pertaining to, a wide variety of public health functions and activities including embark/debark processes, outbreak prevention and response, case investigations, and isolation and quarantine.
• Collaborate with Medical and Security teams to conduct contact tracing in a timely manner, when required.
• Monitor activity of gastrointestinal illness, COVID-19, and other communicable diseases onboard. Ensure departments monitor crew for symptoms of infectious illness.
• Conduct IPC meetings to review IPC topics and trends and identify potential health risks as well as periodically review and update the ships infection prevention risk assessment with the shipboard teams.
• Assist the Medical Team in responding to local health authority requests for public health information.
• Support shipboard public health training program and periodically review training records, including Public Health Awareness Training, Outbreak Prevention and Response, use of PPE and other IPC related trainings.
• Execute tabletop exercises and IPC drills to ensure operational preparedness and response to elevated levels of illness and prepares after-action reports.
• Ensure departmental compliance with the ships Integrated Pest Management Plan and that the ship maintains the IPM records in accordance with USPH-VSP and internal policy requirements.
