I have been involved in teaching English in various capacities since I came to Greece. My work in publishing has also given me great insight into many aspects of EFL. At Easter 2009, I was interviewed for a teaching position at Ekpaideftiki Anagenisi. I was asked to organize material and run a summer course suitable for children ranging from preschool to 6th year primary which is 12 years old. I was then employed full time in September and taught primary school children, many of whom had learning differences. My personal approach has always been very positive, encouraging children to improve their communication skills through singing, drama, games and curriculum-based material. It is my understanding that foreign children of all ages and abilities can exceed any expectations if they love the language and are encouraged to believe in their ability to reach the stars. During my time at Anagenisi I have run fun clubs and debate clubs, written and taught summer courses, and am currently working with preschool children and first year children in order to help them take their first steps in communicating and reading and writing in English. I love my job, I love the variety that being a native speaker gives me to step in and teach any level at any time.
