I am an experienced Senior Instructor and Race Coach with vast knowledge of Racing and Sailing. I am a strong team leader as well as being excellent when working independently. I have experience running Race Squads as well as being a part of Race squads so I am aware of expectations and commitments required to nourish young sailors into high performing, happy racers.
I am currently in my third season here at Wildwind, I have progressed in that time from Dinghy Instructor to Senior Instructor. During my time here I have taught a variety of groups from beginners to advanced cats specialising in the racing groups. I have more recently begun to run the beach having to organise the smooth operating of all sessions each day. I have also been selected this summer to run Kids Race weeks due to the skills and knowledge that I have shown throught my time here.
During my time with Mercury Bay Boating Club I planned and ran all of the Junior sailing programme. This included corresponding with parents, ensuring that conditions were safe and that all organised sessions were accessible to my students. I also ran a Race Squad, I selected a small group of suitable sailors with very little racing experience, ran coaching with them and accompanied them to regional events where many of then placed or gained awards of sportsmanship.
Throughout my work at Southampton Water Activity Centre I planned and ran a wide variety of sessions with a wide variety of students, from beginners up to advanced race courses. I was often used with the racing groups for my vast racing knowledge as well as my ability to connect with students.
My time assisting at Notts County Sailing Club was spent, planning, running and assiting sessions with sailors of various racing experience many with very little. Under the guidance or me and my fellow race coaches these sailors progressed to performing extremely well at the following National events many of which are still known names on the youth circuits.
