IACES - International Association of Civil Engineer Students - is an international non-profit student organization, founded in September 1989 in Delft. Its major aim is the development of contacts between civil engineering students and students of relative sciences in the world. The Local Committee of Thessaloniki (Aristotle University of Thessaloniki) was founded in November 2016 as an Observer Group and was recognized as a Local Committee in October 2017. The goal of the Local Committee is to organize local and international activities, such as seminars, training sessions, workshops, student exchanges, site visits and competitions, as well as generally discover and offer new opportunities and experiences to university students.
Logistics Responsible of ICEC 2024 (February 2024 -May 2024)
Member of the four-people organizing team of the national round of International Competition of Civil Engineering 2024 (ICEC), in the position of Logistics Responsible. This event was a three-day engineering event, where participated civil engineering students from Thessaloniki where divided in teams, consisting of 3 people each and faced 3 challenges, with the best team qualifying for the final where it claims its distinction among other teams of civil engineers coming from different countries of the world
As a Logistics Responsible, I was in charge:
of the fundraising for the financial support of the event
of all the necessary logistics and materials that the event needed
of the participant’s meals and coffee breaks during the event
Participants Responsible of W.A.C.E.S 5 (January 2025 - March 2025)
Member of the four people organizing team of the Workshop of Architecture and Civil Engineering Students (W.A.C.E.S) that was held for the 5th time, in the position of Logistics Responsible. This event was a three-day engineering event, where participated civil engineering and architecture students from Thessaloniki where divided in teams, consisting of 4 people each (2 civil engineers and 2 architects) and faced a challenge. The goal was to learn to collaborate, bridge the gap between their disciplines and propose their solution for the given challenge, as they were evaluated by professors and professionals in the field.
