Interned in the Utilities Department at Aspropyrgos Hellenic Petroleum Refinery, gaining hands-on experience with P&IDs and PFDs for steam distribution network, Gas Turbines, Desalination Unit, and Cooling Tower. Monitored the daily operation of the cooling tower to ensure optimal performance and efficiency.
As a Chemical Process Engineer within the Energy & Industrial Business Unit, I am assigned to the 1750 MW Mintia Combined Cycle Power Plant project. My role focuses on:
1. Technical evaluation and follow-up of the following systems &
Equipment:
2. Develop and optimize P&IDs for Balance of Plant (BOP) systems
(Condensate Distribution System, Demineralized Water Distribution
System, Process Drains) ensuring accurate representation of
process flow, control strategies, and instrumentation layout in
alignment with project requirements and industry standards.
3. Prepare detailed system descriptions for the aforementioned
Balance of Plant (BOP) systems, including functional overviews,
operational sequences & control philosophies.
4. Perform sizing and prepare datasheets for pumps, heat exchangers,
control valves and safety valves (per ASME/API codes) to ensure
accurate and compliant system design.
5. Prepare detailed Material Requisitions.
6. Participate in HAZOP studies to identify and evaluate potential
process hazards, contributing to risk mitigation and ensuring safe
system design and operation.
7. Conducted power plant simulations using Thermoflow software
and performed hydraulic calculations with PipeFlow software.
