Summary

Being Greek – Canadian and I speak both English and Greek. I have been teaching both English and Greek for over 20 years. For the last few years, I have been teaching refugees who wish to acquire citizenship. Occasionally, I translate books for the Theological Department of the University of Athens.

My University education has given me the opportunity to work in many fields and work with people of different backgrounds. Since I was born and raised in a multicultural country such as Canada, I have always interacted with people of other origins.

My Bachelor’s degree in Religious studies has equipped me with the ability of understanding people of different cultures and beliefs. My Bachelor’s of Education certifies me to teach languages, literature and Dramatic Arts. I am very good at teaching in-class or online and at organizing activities that give individuals the opportunity to learn skills that would help them get back on their feet when the time comes. Also, I am certified in special education, a qualification that has equipped me with the skill of trying new ideas so as to gain good rapport with both children and adults. Moreover, my experience in working for the Municipality of Agrinio (administration) along with various other work experience such as administration in the construction field, waitressing, sales and working in the field of tourism, has given me the opportunity to develop various administrational and communication skills.

I am also the school coordinator and director of the Ivorian refugee Community center in Athens, Greece. I have been volunteering for them quite actively. I translate documents, I apply to programs for funding, I coordinate their school curriculum and many of their events. I consider myself a hardworking and reliable individual, positive, energetic, honest and trustworthy. I believe I can make a difference in any position I am assigned at.
