  • Duties and Responsibilities
  • Set up, organize, and clean the assigned station according to USPH standards; prepare mise en place to ensure the station is ready when guests arrive.
  • Greet and welcome: warmly welcome guests, taking orders, and offering beverages.
  • Serve water, bread, butter, and beverages according to service procedure.
  • Possess full knowledge of the menu and provide explanations as well as recommendations; take and process guest food orders, paying attention to food allergies; and make sure the food temperature and presentation are up to standard.
  • Observe guests to anticipate their needs, respond to any additional requests, and determine when the food and beverage service has been completed to standard.
  • Provide on-the-job leadership and guidance to assistant waiters and dining stewards in preparation for possible advancement to a waiter position.
  • Work with the assistant waiter to make sure all linen, silverware, glassware, and china are available at our station for reusing.
  • Perform duties as requested by supervisors, including luggage and tea time service, and attend mandatory training.
  • Wine service: offer wine recommendations, pour wines, and manage wine inventory.
  • Bid guests farewell and invite them back to the restaurant upon departure.
  • Safety and hygiene; adhere to health and safety protocols.
  • Inventory management; monitor supplies; report shortages; and minimize waste.
  • Training and development; participate in workshops, seminars, and online training.
