I served my country as a reserve pharmacist sergeant during my mandatory military conscription in the Greek Armed Forces. After receiving my basic military training, I undertook an additional health scientist training at the 251 General Air Force Hospital in Athens, where I went on to become a Certified Pharmacist for the Air Force. From November 2024 up until September 2025, I worked as a Hospital Pharmacist at the 251 General Air Force Hospital.
Typical working hours were; 07:00 a.m - 13:30 p.m, Monday to Friday.
I applied to become an observer, or a Research Associate in Dr. Iro Georgoussi's Laboratory of Molecular Pharmacology and Cell Signaling in the NCSR Demokritos facilities, in Athens. Dr. Georgoussi accepted my application and offered me a part-time position in her lab. I was offered a full-time position, but declined as my duties with the Air Force were greater and unavoidable. After completing my shift with the Air Force, I worked with her team, researching the RGS 4 implication in KOR induced autophagy of neurons in both in vitro and ex vivo experiments, from 14:30 p.m - 19:30 p.m, Monday to Friday. Noteworthily, I wasn't able to attend the lab every day because of my Air Force duties. I sought this lab work for experience gains.
