The present study was conducted at O.KA.NA, a rehabilitation center in Athens, in terms of the academic course 'Empirical Criminology 1', in Panteion University of Social and Political Sciences. Purpose of this research was the investigation, through interviews, of the reasons that led the distributed to the dependence on substances, the process of their detoxification and whether this rehabilitation center achieves its goal, to reintegrate them in the society.
